Energy Bars
Read moreEnergy bars are a wonderful thing for those with a tight schedule. They provide all the nutrition and energy you need for a workout and are nice and portable. A full meal after a workout is always best, but if that isn't possible, an energy bar will go a long way toward making sure you don't feel lethargic after exercise. I always eat a bar before a workout, one during the workout if its over one hour, and another afterwards if I am unable to eat a meal. My favorites are the regular Clif bars, but many people prefer PowerBars. Those watching their calories should check out the lower calorie Luna bars. Keep in mind, however, that the whole idea of the energy bar is for it to provide you calories for energy.
